About

Welcome,

My intention with An Olive Branch is to offer therapies that help support and encourage the body back into balance and health.

I believe that the body has an incredible capacity to heal given the right environment. This involves looking at the whole picture: the mental, emotional and physical terrain.

The Greek Philosopher Socrates acknowledged some 2,000 years ago that you cannot separate the mind from the body. The mind and its emotions profoundly interact with the body’s nervous system, hormonal system and immune system. Each does not live in isolation. In the same way if the body has missed out on developmental movement patterns there is not going to be effortless movement and balance and an unstable body is an unstable mind.

If we are to cope with the stresses of modern living and the significant increase in depression and anxiety we need to be aware of how we respond to our environment and know what we need in order to feel at ease. Recognising what are unhelpful thought patterns might be, our deepest feelings about ourself, our fears and knowing how to follow through are in my experience all part of the jigsaw.

I believe there is much we can do.

My interest in Complementary Medicine began after I was diagnosed with Glandular Fever and Post Viral Fatigue Syndrome aged 19.

I discovered first hand the benefits of Reflexology, Homeopathy and Meditation and wanted to train so that I could help other people who were suffering from dis-ease find their journey back to health.

I specialise in working with people of all ages suffering with anxiety and the effects of stress. However in recent years I have worked more with children with Neuro developmental difficulties and their parents.

In 2019, along with a friend I opened The Neuro Balance Centre in Mells, We also work with helping children and adults with Neuro Diversity through looking at Neuro Developmental markers (primitive and postural reflexes), Auditory Processing issues and the gut. We help to mature the Central Nervous System, to get the mind and body working together, which often means helping the body to go back and experience the movements that for one reason or other ( birth trauma, family predisposition, medications) it didn’t complete .

Please look at The Neuro Balance Centre for more information about this.

TRAINING: I have 17 years experience working as a Complementary Therapist. I trained with The British School of Homeopathy, The Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice at Bangor University, Oxford University Mindfulness Centre, The Mindfulness in Schools Project, The International Institute of Reflex Therapy in Barcelona , Sound Learning Centre and Embody Move in London.

Please do get in touch if you would like to know more.
